Rude Awakening, Glen Hwaung In high school I was led by the Lord within and decided I wanted to serve Him. In college I was involved in some campus work, being an officer of a Christian club and spreading the gospel on campus. I realized how deficient I was in many areas such as knowing the truth in the Bible, character, and especially preaching the gospel. This ultimately brought me to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA). In the Training I saw that I cannot serve God in my own way or according to my own concepts. In Leviticus 10, Nadab and Abihu, sons of Aaron the high priest, used strange fire to kindle the incense to offer to God. As a result they were both devoured by fire from God. When I couple this account with 1 Corinthians 3 concerning my work for the Lord being proved by fire I see the solemnity and seriousness of seeing God. I hope that I will not have a rude awakening in that day and find out that my service did not count in the eyes of God, that I was building with wood, hay, and stubble fit for the fire. To serve God is altogether a matter of who I am, a combination of my disposition and character, but most importantly how much Christ has been wrought into me (Ephesians 3:17-19). I can only minister who I am and bring people as far as I have gone. Being in the Training for two years has been a golden opportunity for the Lord to lay a solid foundation in me to serve Him for the rest of my days.
